Revealed for the first time to audiences at the Galaxy Unpacked event in NY, the 5.7 inch phablet features a dual curved display, a feature it inherits from the S7 Edge.

“Samsung’s newest Note incorporates numerous advancements made in the Note 5, including a 5.7” screen, 12 MP camera and the famous S Pen stylus, making it flawless for productivity and business applications.

Pre-orders for the Galaxy Note 7 will start from August 8 to 10 and there are reportedly only 4,000 units available for booking. Those who purchase the phone in the USA will be able to pick a bonus gift: either the Gear Fit 2 or a 256GB microSD card.

The Galaxy Note 7 will be available starting on September 2 and will be offered in Blue Coral, Silver Titanium and Black Onyx.

It also features an iris scanner that scans your eyes as a kind of biometric fingerprint. Word is that it’s made the move to ensure the new iPhone is waterproof, although the Galaxy Note 7 can also withstand dunks and splashes.

Samsung says it skipped over the Note 6 in favor of the Note 7 name to “unify [its] product portfolio” and “minimize confusion”.

The latest Note is called the Galaxy Note 7. It is powered by a 64-bit Exynos 8890 Octa-core (2.3GHz Quad-core + 1.6 GHz Quad-core) Processor with 4GB RAM.

Note that the phone connection is modular, and Samsung bundles a microUSB connector which can be swapped in instead of the USB C, and this makes the Gear VR compatible with the Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, Galaxy Note5, Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge and Galaxy S6 edge+.

Wireless charging: You can quickly charge your phone with wireless charging. Finally, this internal memo points out that the $200 taken off the price of the GS7, GS7 edge, or Note 5 will come via monthly bill credit.

Numerous specs on the Note 7 will be familiar to users of one of Samsung’s current flagships. Including Verizon, who will be opening pre-orders tomorrow for the device. Unlike the S7, however, owners can control the handset’s screen in wet conditions with the bundled S-Pen stylus, which also ships with IP68 certification.
