Around 500,000 replacement Galaxy Note 7s have arrived in the USA and will sent to mobile carriers and retailers as Samsung begins its full replacement program.

A software update is being rolled out to owners of affected Note7 devices; a warning message will be displayed on screens urging users to power down devices and bring them in. It is also feared that Galaxy Note 7 sales may not be able to recover, which might force Samsung to advance the launch of its next major flagship device, the Galaxy S8. Apparently, the phones caught on fire, and some buyers visited Samsung retail stores asking for refunds.
After the software update and you see a green icon, that means your new Galaxy Note 7 features a non-defective battery. This update however, won’t be made available in the SA market.
The recall of the Galaxy Note 7 has adversely affected Samsung and is a blessing in disguise for the bigger iPhone 7 Plus, which poses a direct threat to the Samsung offering.
Samsung has had a bit of a tough time over the last couple of weeks, after it emerged that a small percentage of Galaxy Note 7’s batteries exploded while charging.
How do I know if my phone is part of the recall? .
T-Mobile has stated on its website that owners can exchange Galaxy Note 7 handsets in stores starting Wednesday.
The company attempted to avoid a government recall by establishing a “product exchange” on September 2.
“There isn’t much difference compared to before the recall took place”, he said. While speaking with reporters, Kaye appeared to blast Samsung for not coordinating with his agency.Health Canada and Samsung Canada issued a product recall earlier this week, noting that they received one report of a phone battery overheating.
The notice also provides a phone number and web address, which users can use to find out more about getting their Note 7 replaced. At least, that is what the company has been saying following the results of tests conducted on the devices.

This is sequel to the postponement of sales of the device globally due to isolated battery cell problems.
