Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ plus smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked 2015 event in New York on Thursday.

Samsung Pay is similar to its competitors in practice – once you enter your card information, you can make payments using those accounts from the app, with each transaction using tokenization to create a randomized transaction number used during transmission instead of your actual card number.

“The Note would have been a good fit for Europe’s enterprise market, and if Samsung expects the S6 Edge+ to attract the same business users I don’t believe it will succeed”, commented Francisco Jeronimo from market research firm IDC.

Samsung has essentially upsized the 5.1-incher on the original to 5.7 inches here.

The decision was made based on the fact that almost 2 million Note phones have been sold in Taiwan over the past four years, underlining local consumers’ preference for the big-screen series, said Samsung Taiwan President Lee Jaeyub (李載燁).

Both of these mobile devices have identical hardware with an octa-core Exynos 7420 chipset with 4 GB of RAM, 16 Megapixel rear camera, 5 Megapixel front-facing camera, and 32 or 64 GB of storage and “absolutely nothing in the way of expandable memory”.

Samsung has shown off its first round watch… via a fashion lookbook. Fortunately, there’s one inclusion on the Galaxy S6 Edge+ that will likely prove helpful: a full suite of Microsoft Office apps, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. As for the bigger version of the curved smartphone, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, it comes with a feature in which users can add favorite icons on the edge display to get faster and easier access.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 runs in Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung TouchWiz interface and customizations. While Samsung announced free music subscriptions several months after the S6 and S6 Edge were launched, it is taking no chances with this one. Samsung is calling the Galaxy Note 5 the ultimate productivity device.

What’s unclear is if these 128GB versions of the Note 5 and S6 edge+ are real or if they’re just an error.
