Though both smartphones come with S Pen support, the Galaxy Note 7’s has been expanded thanks to its Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow software. But with the Galaxy S7 Edge almost matching the Galaxy Note 7 in size, what does the Note have to differentiate itself?
Adorning a 5.7inch QHD AMOLED display, the Note 7 will be available in two variants – one powered by Snapdragon 820 and the other running on Exynos 8890 chipset – with 4GB of RAM.
And while the Note 5’s S Pen was a great feature in itself, Samsung enhanced the same in the Galaxy Note 7.
Where the Galaxy Note 7 really differs from its Edge cousin though is new features, including a USB-C connection, a stylus and an iris scanner.
Note 7 is smaller than the Note 5, despite having a 5.7-inch screen size. The handset is equipped with a 12MP camera with optical images stabilization as well as a 5MP front-facing camera.
Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 has finally launched, and the handset definitely gave a good impression to many consumers who tuned in to the South Korean tech giant’s Unpacked event yesterday. In the United Kingdom you will be able to pre-order the Note 7 from Tuesday 16 August.
The Note7 is available to pre-order from selected carriers now, and will be in stores August 19, with pricing around $1050 CAD. Tests show the infrared iris scanner only takes seconds to set up, and users can unlock Galaxy Note 7 with a glance of either eye. It’s also IP68 waterproof rated, has a microSD slot for expandable memory, and includes iris scanning security features. It is similar to the one found in the flagship Galaxy S7 edge. Here in the U.S., the Note 7 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and a 3,500mAh battery. Even though the phone’s size is more or less same compared to Note 5, it is unbelievable that Samsung has given 500 mAh bigger battery in the Note 7.

As for the price, the Galaxy Note 7 starts selling at $850.
