Samsung starts replacing faulty Galaxy Note 7 handsets early

Here’s my review of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7. It’s nearly the flawless phone but there’s one thing that could be better! Elliot Kaye, CPSC chairman announced more details today in a press conference that he is “urging all consumers to take advantage of this recall right away”.

People can now travel with the smartphones on aircraft only if they disable all applications like alarm clocks that could accidentally activate the phone, protect the power switch to prevent the phone from being inadvertently activated or turned on, and store the device in carry-on baggage or on their person, and not in checked baggage.

Extending its Galaxy A series in India, South Korean technology giant Samsung Electronics on Friday launched Galaxy A9 Pro smartphone with glass and metal body for Rs 32,490.

Shortly after the CPSC’s announcement, Samsung put up a statement detailing its US Note 7 Exchange Program. Airlines have also prohibited customers from using their devices on flights.

The US Safety Commission said that Samsung received 92 reports of batteries on the Note 7 overheating in the US, including 26 reports of burns, 55 reports of property damage, including fires in cars and a garage. The federal agency said owners of the Note 7 can get a free replacement from Samsung, their wireless carrier or from the retail outlet where they bought it.
