Samsung to Appeal to US Supreme Court
Last week, the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit of Washington denied Samsung’s petition to rehear the case.

But that’s not all, the company says: “The questions present issues of enormous importance to patent litigation and the scope of innovation, especially in high-technology industries”.
Samsung filed legal papers on Wednesday to have its patent battle against Apple heard by the highest court in the land, the U.S. Supreme Court.
That part of the verdict – which has been pared from an original judgment of $1 billion – accounts for about $400 million of the $548 million in damages Samsung still must pay Apple from their first trial. The latest appeal has Samsung arguing against some $399 million worth of damages. (NASDAQ:AAPL) patents cover minor features according to the company does not justify the hefty fine it was handed. The case marked the beginning of a long-running feud between the two tech giants.
