Samsung To launch Samsung HW-K950 Dolby Atmos soundbar
However, it is speculated that the company will share the soundbar’s pricing and availability details at the CES 2016 event in Las Vegas this week. The speakers can also be connected wirelessly via Multiroom app, downloadable from Android and iOS app stores, which makes it convenient to share music over shared internet connection of the house. Samsung is clearly aware that wireless systems, like those from Sonos and now coming from their arch-rivals LG, are what consumers are looking for these days.

Usually, though, it demands a room full of speakers, but Samsung’s newest soundbar promises to streamline things considerably. The speakers use proprietary Ring Radiator technology so they can be placed anywhere and still fill the room with well-balanced sound. Samsung also claimed that its the industry’s first soundbar package to include two Dolby Atmos-enabled wireless rear speakers. This means that ceiling-fitted speakers are not required for moving, 3D audio.
We’ve been talking about why you’d want a Dolby Atmos home theater setup for quite some time.

The cost of the soundbar is yet to be announced. These rear units provide extra positional audio data, bouncing Dolby Atmos sound off your ceiling to simulate recessed speakers. “Samsung’s new Soundbar with Dolby Atmos technology, delivers the ultimate in cinematic home entertainment, especially when paired with Samsung’s new SUHD TVs”. This all connects to a sub woofer to create what Samsung calls a 5.1.4-channel sound system. As well as three forward-facing speakers, the HW-K950’s soundbar contains two upward-facing speakers.
