Samuel DuBose: No Indictment For Two University Of Cincinnati Officers Who
The University of Cincinnati has confirmed two of its police officers have been placed on administrative since the incident. Tensing, who is white, fatally shot the 43-year-old African-American man on July 19 after stopping him for not having a front license plate.

Tensing, 25, was indicted Wednesday on one count of murder and one count of voluntary manslaughter for the shooting death of the unarmed DuBose on July 19.
According to the incident report filed after the shooting, Tensing claimed that he had been almost run over by DuBose’s auto and was then forced to open fire.
Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Off/REUTERS University of Cincinnati police officers Ray Tensing (L) and Phillip Kidd approach a auto after driver Samuel Dubose was shot.
On the video from the body camera worn by Kidd, Tensing’s fellow officer, Tensing repeatedly says he was dragged by DuBose’s vehicle and that he got his arm stuck in the auto.
“These officers have been truthful and honest about what happened and no charges are warranted”, Deters said in a statement. But city officials who viewed video footage released from Tensing’s body camera said the traffic stop shouldn’t have led to a shooting.
Tensing later posted 10 percent of that amount and was released, the Hamilton County Court clerk’s website said.

Authorities have said Tensing noticed the auto driven by Mr DuBose didn’t have a front licence plate.
While Brockton described the filing of the grievance as a routine maneuver, it speaks to the opposition many police departments encounter from police unions when attempting to discipline officers for misconduct.
Because of Dubose’s death, University of Cincinnati officials have stopped conducting off campus traffic stops. Stew Matthews, Tensing’s lawyer, insisted his client feared for his life when he shot Dubose. “People here are talking about it. I can tell you that”. Kidd can be heard saying he saw Tensing being dragged. While neither Kidd nor Weibel deployed the Taser, they were involved in restraining Brinson, and were therefore two of the seven police officers named in the suit.
Deters was shocked when he got access to watch the body camera footage of the shooting, which clearly showed DuBose acting in a completely non-violent manner towards Tensing.
While the 25-year-old faces the possibility of life in prison, tensions over the killing continue to simmer.
The bodycam video shows Tensing approach the auto and ask DuBose for his license and registration.
Former University of Cincinnati police officer Ray Tensing has bonded out of jail. The officers also testified before a grand jury. The video is from the body camera of another responding officer, David Lindenschmidt.
DuBose’s family has urged the community to remain calm, as it has in a series of demonstrations since the shooting.

Also Friday, the county coroner released preliminary autopsy findings showing that DuBose died of a single gunshot wound to the head.
