“The challenge of our efforts to try and find and redirect people is that it is a wide spectrum of folks”, FBI Director James Comey said Friday.

The Islamic State group has claimed the two were its “followers”, and Malik is believed to have pledged allegiance to IS on Facebook shortly before the attack.
Corwin Porter, health department assistant director, said Monday that the room didn’t provide much protection.
Farook and his wife, Tashfeen Malik, are suspected of killing 14 people and wounding 21 at the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino, Calif., on Wednesday.
Sayed Farook told the newspaper that his son spoke about the Islamic State and that his wife, Tashfeen Malik, who also was killed in the shootout with police, may have radicalized him. “We better get a little tough, and a little smart, or we’re in trouble”.
She said the FBI terrorism investigation so far has involved “over 300 interviews, several locations searched, a lot of information being processed, being analyzed and being gathered, and more to come”.
One source told Reuters the probe was focusing closely on contacts the shooters may have had with radical Islamists in the United States, rather than oversees.
Workers at Riverside Magnum Range say Farook didn’t raise suspicions.
He says the bureau believes both were radicalized and had been “for some time”. He also said the FBI was working with foreign counterparts to expand the scope of its investigation.
Newly released emergency radio transmissions from the fast-moving tragedy show that police identified Farook as a suspect nearly immediately, even though witnesses reported that the attackers wore black ski masks. At least six people remained hospitalized Monday, two in critical condition.
It said the steps being taken by the USA government after the attack were aimed at fulfilling Obama’s highest priority: keeping American people safe.
“But it is clear that the two of them had gone down the dark path of radicalization, embracing a perverted interpretation of Islam that calls for war against America and the West”, the President said.
Marquez hasn’t been charged with a crime, and it’s unclear if he did anything illegal.
Meanwhile, most of the county’s 20,000 employees went back to work for the first time since the rampage five days earlier plunged the community into shock and mourning.
“To honor them, to express our gratitude for their unimaginable sacrifice, we have to fight to maintain that ordinary”, San Bernardino County Supervisor Janice Rutherford said Monday of the victims.
“The FBI is still gathering the facts about what happened in San Bernardino, but here’s what we know: The victims were brutally murdered and injured by one of their co-workers and his wife”, he said. Counseling centers and a hotline were open, and managers were urged to look for signs of distress in their employees. Finally, services for some of the victims began on Sunday.
At a news conference announcing the return to work, Trudy Raymundo, county health director, recalled that she was about to give a presentation when the killers opened fire.
“None of the 14 who perished had a chance”, said Dr. Dev Gnanadev, a member of the 50-physician medical team that responded to the active shooter alert.
If the attack was a result of workplace dispute, why did the killers have pipe bombs and other weapons in the home they lived in with their 6-month-old baby?
