San Bernardino Shooters Were Radicalized for ‘Quite Some Time,’ Says FBI
“How could he become the person responsible for this tragedy?” said Ali.

“The FBI is still gathering the facts about what happened in San Bernardino, but here’s what we know: The victims were brutally murdered and injured by one of their co-workers and his wife”, he said.
“We did not have an open investigation into Mr. Farook at the time of this incident”. Tashfeen Malik, the Pakistan-born, Saudi Arabian-raised wife of the American Syed Farook, came to our country through a K1 visa, which even on official forms is known as the “fiancé(e) visa”.
California bars assault weapons, blocks the sale of large-capacity magazines and requires universal background checks for all gun purchases.
The weapons cache collected by Tashfeen Malik, 29, and her husband Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, indicates more attacks, but there is no evidence of other possible targets, a senior USA government source told the Reuters news agency.
Marquez hasn’t been charged with a crime, and it’s unclear if he did anything illegal. They had all been purchased from federal firearms licensees in California between 2007-2012. At least six people remained hospitalized Monday, two in critical condition.
At one point, a dispatcher advises all units that potentially three suspects wearing black masks and possibly tactical vests had fled in a black SUV with assault rifles.
It was not immediately clear whether Farook attended the late-2014 session on what to do when a gunman invades the workplace, San Bernardino County spokeswoman Felisa Cardona said.
“One of the first things I said, ‘Hey you got a picture?’ He didn’t have any pictures”, Harrison said.
The couple killed 14 people there Wednesday.
“Unfortunately, the room just didn’t provide a whole lot of protection”, said Corwin Porter, assistant county health director.
“We do have evidence that both of the subjects participated in target practice in some ranges within the metro area or within the Los Angeles area”, Bowdich said.
He said both were radicalised and had been “for some time”. But he said investigators are still trying to establish precisely when, where and by whom they were influenced.
The NYT report further said that Saudi officials have denied the idea that Malik took up more fundamentalist views in Saudi Arabia, or that it played a role in the relationship between her and Farook.
On Monday, Bowdich said authorities had found 19 pipes that could have been used for pipe bombs, rather than the dozen pipe bombs previously described.
Earlier the founder of an Islamic religious school organisation in Pakistan where Malik studied insisted the group is non-political and has no links to extremists.
Farhat Hashmi, director of Al Huda in Multan confirmed on Monday that Malik was enrolled in a two-year course in religious studies but stopped attending classes after a couple of months. Ms Hashmi saids Malik left without completing a diploma.
Hashmi says “it seems” Malik “was unable to understand the attractive message” of the Quran.
“Men don’t have a monopoly on terrorism or conducting violent acts”, she said.
Federal investigators are learning more about the couple who carried out last week’s deadly massacre in San Bernardino, California.
USA officials have said they had no information on the couple before the shootings. The Islamic State is urging followers to launch attacks wherever they may be as the group seeks to expand its reach beyond Iraq and Syria.
