Kaufman, 42, was an employee of a coffee shop at the facility, which assists the developmentally disabled. Some of the bodies had not been removed from the conference center on Thursday, he said. “I have to explain to them the tragedy of today’s events”.
“We’ve been working throughout the night on that”, he said.
Officials have not yet publicly released the names of those killed but word of Thalasinos’ death spread through social media on Thursday morning.
Hours earlier, friends of at least one of the victims had already begun flooding Facebook with expressions of sympathy, grief, and frustration.
The shooters, identified as 28-year-old Syed Rizwan Farook and his 27-year-old wife, Tashfeen Malik, fired between 65 and 75 rifle rounds during the shooting at a county health department holiday party, then unloaded about that number in a later confrontation with police, according to San Bernardino County Police Chief Jarrod Burguan.
Originally from New Jersey, Nicholas Thalasinos moved to California after meeting his wife, who works as a teacher.
Thalasinos responded, “My new hobby appears to be BLOCKING PAGAN ANTISEMITIC TROGLODYTES so I’m just passing this along to warn others”.
“How incredibly tragic”, wrote Shelley Spratt, who is acquainted with a close friend of Renee Wetzel’s, on her Facebook page. “But he was also amusing and sweet and just a great guy who gave his life for Christ”.
Michael served as a supervising environmental health specialist within the county of San Bernardino. The page says the couple “shared their love for science fiction and fantasy and had a very deep, spiritual relationship”.
“They went through quite a lot in their 14 years together, loss, health issues, but always had each other to depend on”, the description on the Go Fund Me page continues. The site urges those touched by the story to “Help us help them”, and features a heartbreaking photo of the family.

Len Guthrie worked for 33 years with the Cape May County Health Department before retiring. He leaves behind a wife and six young children. “And like I said, my husband, with our being Messianic, they don’t necessarily get along, but my husband never had anything bad to say about him”. We appreciate all the love and support that everyone is showing.
