San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders team needs
But the Oakland Raiders polished off a second half comeback with a 23-20 overtime victory over the San Diego Chargers to send Charles Woodson out a victor in his final home game of his career. It could be the final game in Oakland ever, and it is also the final home game for Raiders safety Charles Woodson before he calls it a legendary career.

The San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders match-up on Thursday does not have play-off implications, but it is noteworthy for a couple of reasons.
Philip Rivers threw for 277 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers (4-11). However, Oakland linebacker Malcolm Smith forced a fumble, and defensive end Benson Mayowa recovered it and returned 41 yards to the 3.
The injury-riddled Chargers lost several more players to injuries, including cornerback Jason Verrett (hamstring), safety Eric Weddle (groin) and offensive linemen Orlando Franklin (concussion) and Trevor Robinson (concussion).
San Diego’s Kendall Reyes intercepted a pass to set up a seven-play drive capped by Donald Brown’s one-yard touchdown run, but Oakland answered with Latavius Murray’s 22-yard touchdown run to equalize at 7-7.
I just want you to know that you guys are under great leadership. Verrett, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and was a Raiders fan, had one tackle before exiting the game.
NOTES: Chargers starting WR Stevie Johnson (hip) was inactive for the second consecutive game.
The Chargers have not won a game in their division in more than a year and have gone 0-7 during that span.
On the next play, Michael Crabtree hauled in a touchdown pass from David Carr, who connected with Seth Roberts on a two-point conversion that gave Oakland a 20-17 lead. “Rai-ders!” chant one final time.
“When we got the three points, coach (Jack) Del Rio came up to me and said, ‘Hey, the defense will take care of it. That was a game winning drive, ‘” Carr said. They even included a few San Diego Charger fans – another team that is making a play to move to Los Angeles. A holding penalty on the next play helped doom the Chargers to another field goal try, and Lambo was wide left from 48 yards.
Raiders owner Mark Davis and Chargers owner Dean Spanos are seeking to partner on building a stadium in Carson, which could lead to an unusual partnership between teams that have been fierce rivals for more than a half-century.
Then there’s the whole possibility of the team moving to Los Angeles to share a stadium with, of all teams, the Chargers, a proposal National Football League owners will vote on in Houston in January.
Much later in the fourth quarter, the Chargers received a successful 45 yard field goal from Lambo. Oakland International Airport is thick with silver and black on weekends the Raiders are in town, as expatriates return to swell the Black Hole’s population.

The passing game felt the effects of a short week, as Amari Cooper didn’t play a third of the snaps because of a sore foot that has bothered him for weeks.
