Smith denied he was driving under the influence during a brief interview with a local television station before Tomsulas news conference.

“This wasn’t a DUI”. One of those stories comes from CBS Sports, where a report states that nothing about an altercation has been confirmed by either player. “I’m sorry for anybody I let down, I’m sorry for the way this whole thing… It will work out how it’s supposed to work out”.

He was released on bail of $26,000, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

San Francisco 49ers linebackers Aldon Smith, left, and Ahmad Brooks, right, run a drill during the team’s NFL football training camp in Santa Clara, Calif., Sunday, August 2, 2015. Smith was arrested at the Los Angeles worldwide Airport after telling TSA agents he had a bomb in April 2014. However, no charges were filed in that incident. He was dismissed exclusively three days after common supervisor Trent Baalke praised Smith’s progress and spoke of re-signing him for subsequent season together with his contract yr approaching. This battle seems to be bigger than Smith, which explains why the 49ers are hellbent on supporting him, on or off the team.

Smith joins a list of notable 49ers defenders who won’t return in 2015 that also includes Patrick Willis, Chris Borland and Justin Smith, who all retired. Also in that very year, he pleaded not guilty for three felony counts for illegal possession of a weapon, derived from a party at his home on June 2012.

Smith was arrested and charged with DUI again after a vehicle accident in September 2013. We thought the talented 25-year-old had finally put all his demons behind him. Get the help. You don’t have to walk alone.

“He does not have to walk this road alone”.

Smith amassed 44 sacks over four seasons with the 49ers from 2011-14 and was elected to the 2012 Pro Bowl with an NFC-best 19½ sacks. Go get it. You’re worth it.

He restructured the contract in March, giving up a $9.75 million guaranteed deal that was converted into monthly roster bonuses, NFL.com said.

And even though Haley is in the midst of one of the greatest weekends of his life, he had a bad day Friday.

Sure, there is no doubt that in a vacuum Smith could be a difference maker for Oakland, or just about any other team he might play for. “I wasn’t here the entire offseason but from what I’ve gathered he’s worked his butt off. It looked like that when I got here so I think it was a shock for everybody”.
