San Jose police shoot, kill 2 men in separate incidents

Two officers got into a confrontation with the suspect before shooting and killing him. They did not immediately elaborate on what prompted the officers, who were not injured, to open fire at the man.

Two men are dead after separate police clashes where officers opened fire on armed suspects in a six-hour span bridging Sunday and Monday, authorities said.

The suspect then retreated into the house.

The most recent shooting happened minutes after midnight Monday, when San Jose police rushed to a home on San Marcos Street after a woman called about her brother showed up drunk with a shotgun.

No other information is available at this time.

Officers responded at about 6:20 p.m.to a report of a stabbing near Virginia Avenue and South 34th Street, police said.

Police were investigated whether the suspect committed suicide or was shot to death by officers. Neither of the officers was hurt, according to spokesman Officer Albert Morales of the San Jose Police Department.

When police found the man with the shotgun, they fired their guns at him. The victim was transported to a local area hospital and is being treated for serious injuries.
