The first pass of their 2016 preseason was a left-handed throw by a right-handed quarterback, but the Denver Broncos settled in after Mark Sanchez’ initial off-hand flip as the team’s competition at quarterback didn’t get any more settled.

This year it’s time for Latimer to shape up or ship out, and if Thursday night’s preseason opener is any indication, he may finally be ready to shape up. Both remain confident they can win the job.
“We are aware that a member of the media has started a rumor that Lane Johnson will be suspended for a PED violation”, said Johnson’s agent, Ken Sarnoff, in a statement released to ESPN on Tuesday. “It’s something we wanted to do”. Sanchez’s career, however, has been plagued by interceptions and turnovers.
“I thought it was a safe enough throw”, Sanchez said.
Starting quarterback Jay Cutler completed three of four passes for 18 yards, and top wideout Alshon Jeffery hauled in just one catch for 12 yards.
“I try to do a circle and look at all the fans and stuff”, Floyd said. “Mark needs to protect the ball”. He finished his quarter 10-of-13 for 99 yards, a touchdown, an interception and a 91.5 passer rating.
Coach Gary Kubiak agreed, and pointed out that what was displayed was done by a lot of new faces. Colquitt held on Brandon McManus’ two field goals from 37 and 44 yards while another attempt was blocked.
“I don’t know”, Kubiak said Thursday night after the game. We went out there and executed what they coached and we have the players to do it. We’ve been practicing with all of them.
The game started in a big way as Mark Sanchez ended the first drive of the game with a 32 yard touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas.
Trevor Siemian, who is battling Sanchez for the starting job, was not as sharp.
“If something’s not there the first, second, or third read, and I feel the pocket breaking down, I’ll get out and run with it like you would in the game”, he said. “Honestly. As a defense, I do feel like we’ve really come together and found that point where we’re jelling”. Chicago is 6-19-1 ATS in their last 26 home games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 overall while the over is 4-1 in their last 5 overall. We’ve kind of been practicing that way too. It leaves Denver in a bit of a quarry: go with the unproven option (Lynch, Siemian) or the infamous proven option (Sanchez)? While that might not be much comfort, this was the first game of the season which doesn’t count in any way.

Two other Bears reserve players suffered injuries in the game as well. Kubiak recently said that he’s nearly back to 100 percent, though and he’s expected to play against the Bears. “We threw them out here with a objective to let those guys throw around and compete”. “I was trying to get a grasp of the playbooks”. “The more I can play [Lynch], the more I can find out about him”.
