Sanders asks supporters not to protest at DNC

The head of the Democratic National Committee is resigning after several private emails were released that suggested the DNC was biased toward Hillary Clinton over Bernie Sanders during the 2016 primary election. President Bill Clinton, watching from the audience, leapt to his feet and applauded, as did most of the delegates filling the convention arena.

Las Vegas City Councilman Bob Coffin, a Clinton delegate, took a pragmatic approach to the leaked emails and pointed to Sanders’ prior status as an independent unaffiliated with the Democratic Party.

“Astrid and I will continue to be partners in the fight for comprehensive immigration reform until we get it to the finish line”, he said in a statement. She said her family is still in the US because of people like Sen.

“Hillary Clinton will make an outstanding president and I am proud to stand with her here tonight”, he said. Debbie Wasserman Schultz heckled out of her speaking role Monday at the Democratic National Convention; it’s also providing fodder for her congressional primary opponent.

Sanders was among the progressives who loudly called for Wasserman Schultz’s resignation, a position that he reiterated in response to the email leak that revealed some party officials did in fact attempt to conspire against him.

At the end of the RNC’s video, a clip shows someone holding a sign that reads: “Never Hillary”.

Solomon said he believes a “vast majority” of Sanders delegates support these kinds of protests to express their dismay.

Drawing loud cheers throughout, Sanders offered a detailed comparison of Clinton and Republican Donald Trump on an array of policy issues, portraying the election as a simple choice.

Sanders delegate and Nevada state Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a favorite of liberals. “But it is harder to look your kids in the face who would be living under a Donald Trump presidency”. Mrs. Obama was one of the night’s standouts. Wasserman Schultz’s seat in Congress is up for re-election in November. She warned that the White House couldn’t be in the hands of someone with “a thin skin or a tendency to lash out” or someone who tells voters the country can be great again. Clinton’s campaign hoped the nighttime line-up would overshadow a tumultuous start to the four-day convention.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz says she is stepping down as Democratic Party chairwoman at the end of this week’s convention. The Orange County emergency room physician says he’s a “Bernie or Bust” delegate. But in Philadelphia, Delegates waved “Love Trumps Hate” signs and cheered as immigration supporters, gay rights advocates, and labor leaders took the stage.

Franken noted that because he was a Clinton backer and Silverman was with Sanders, they were forming a bridge.

As the crowd roared in applause, Minnesota Sen. “And a vital part of that movement is making absolutely sure Hillary Clinton is our next president of the United States”. She had originally planned to open the convention but abandoned her plan on Monday.
