Sanders belatedly apologizes for surrogate’s ‘corporate Democratic whores’ comment

As for the Democrats, that same poll shows Clinton with a 10-point lead in the Empire State.

Hillary Clinton was put on defense at Thursday’s Democratic debate when it came to the controversial 1994 crime bill that her husband passed as president.

“I think setting the goal to get to 12 is the way to go, encouraging others to get to 15, but of course if we have a Democratic Congress, we will go to 15”, Clinton said.

Sanders has not had a counter-punch to Clinton’s foreign policy expertise other than “she voted for the Iraq War and I didn’t”. He says it’s really her judgment that is at issue with these positions.

Clinton and Sanders faced off Thursday night in Brooklyn Navy Yard ahead of the April 19 primary.

Sanders also voted for the law.

Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders wasted no time honoring New York’s tradition of bare-knuckled politics when they started campaigning in the state’s primary.

Coming primaries in large states including New York, Pennsylvania and California are among his final chances to significantly alter the arithmetic.

Thursday’s Democratic debate could be the feistiest yet.

Sanders said “There’s no room for language like that in our political discourse”.

Earlier in the debate, Clinton said that she wanted to increase the number solar panels that are used throughout the country. Clinton was definitely more aggressive in a sense that she had to be. Supporters, including many in their 20s and even teens, filled New York City’s Washington Square Park to hear the Vermont senator speak on Wednesday – the Sanders campaign estimated that 27,000 people were in attendance. He disagrees vehemently on some policy issues with Clinton, but in terms of variety of presidential-prep job experience, the former congressional Watergate panel staffer, first lady, and national legislator has got more lines on her résumé than he does.

Sanders has had a string of recent wins. Clinton accused Sanders of having made a “commitment to the NRA” to oppose a waiting period for background checks on gun purchases – and slammed the senator for voting against the so-called “Brady Bill” five times.

The Brooklyn-born Sanders, who calls himself a democratic socialist, is similarly dreaming of a shock win in Clinton’s adopted home state to keep alive his dream of wresting the nomination from the Democratic frontrunner.

But Cruz has been cutting into Trump’s delegate lead and working feverishly to court delegates who would be free to switch loyalties if the convention’s first round of balloting doesn’t determine a clear nominee.

According to RCP averages, Clinton leads by a 1.2 point spread, but the margin of error essential means the race is tied.
