Sanders Campaign: Democrats ‘Court Disaster’ With Clinton Nomination

Bernie Sanders has won the West Virginia primary in the Democratic race for the presidential nomination, U.S. media project. Bernie Sanders is heading anywhere but West, after last night’s resounding 15 point margin of victory in the West Virginia presidential primary.

While he’s generating large crowds at rallies across the country, Sanders hasn’t been able to win over the state party leaders known as superdelegates, who are free to vote at the nominating convention for their favorite candidate.

Sanders retorted that they were all running for president of the United States, and he told Mitchell not to “moan to me about Hillary Clinton’s problems”.

As presumptive republican presidential nominee Donald Trump prepares for the November general election, two democrats are still battling it out to represent their party in November. But like laws in other states, candidates from both parties must be listed on the primary ballot, even if the vote means nothing. He won all 36 delegates in Nebraska in Tuesday’s contest and 31 of the 34 delegates at stake in West Virginia.

Assistant professor of political science Damien Arthur at Marshall University (MU) in West Virginia said: “Her delegate lead is too great at this point”.

Clinton, 68, has said she will ignore Trump’s personal insults, including his repeated use of his new nickname for her, “Crooked Hillary”, and instead will criticise his policy pronouncements.

The Bernie Sanders campaign parted company with its California state campaign director Wednesday, just weeks before the state’s primary election.

“I don’t care about what he says about me”, she said of Trump in Louisville, Kentucky, on Tuesday night.

Until then, however, Mr Sanders will continue to be a constant and unpleasant reminder to Mrs Clinton that there are Democratic voters still unwilling to fully get on board her campaign.

Clinton, speaking to more than 1,000 enthusiastic supporters at Camden County College in Blackwood, accused Trump of promoting intolerance. “‘We have had to take on senators and governors and members of Congress, so please do not moan to me about Hillary Clinton’s problems”. Republicans also have a primary in Oregon. They didn’t. With the majority of votes counted, Trump was winning 61 percent of the vote in Nebraska and 76 percent of the vote in West Virginia.
