However, Clinton would have been acclaimed if Sanders had not run.
Mr Bush’s victory was remarkable because his opponent, former Vice-President Al Gore, received more votes in the national election, but was pipped in the key swing states of OH and Florida.
Sanders scored an early win in the first contest, held on March 1 in Wellington, New Zealand.
“If the Democratic presidential candidate does especially well in the state, that would give a boost to Democratic candidates like Deborah Ross”, UNC journalism professor Ferrel Guillory said. A diverse constituency of Democrats of all voting ages, living across the globe, brought their perspectives and priorities to our party’s nominating process. In Vancouver, several people who waited outside in the drizzle held a sign reading “Jesus Would Vote for Bernie”, offering one of the more colorful expressions of support Sanders saw.
The Democratic presidential hopeful told the crowd he would end the practice of deportation.
“The issues he’s been putting on the table have moved Hillary Clinton and they moved the democratic party to consider issues they were not talking about”, Solop said.
While Clinton started Monday speaking at the pro-Israel Aipac conference in Washington DC, Sanders – who on Sunday admitted to having been “creamed” by Clinton in southern states but predicted gains out west – was campaigning in those western states.
As per the pledged delegates, the former secretary of state has won 1,147 while the senator has won 830.
Ilya Sheyman, the executive editor of MoveOn.org Political Action, said in a statement that voters will not allow the Democratic Party insiders to determine the outcome of the 2016 Presidential elections.
“What’s important is not whether or not he gets out, but how he campaigns”, said Sen.
“If he has a bit of time to sort of set up his campaign, spend a lot of time working a state, he’s usually shown an ability to do better”, says Skelley.
That creates a second challenge for the Clinton campaign. He said the strategy is simple, make contact with as many voters in the state as possible.
