Sanders, Clinton Clash In Last Debate Before ‘Super Tuesday’

While Clinton played the aggressor in the previous Democratic debate, she is mindful of a need to not turn off Sanders’ voters, particularly the young people that are supporting him in overwhelming numbers.

In the debate’s second half, Sanders tried to impugn Clinton’s judgment on foreign policy by pointing out that she had boasted of winning the praise of former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who served during the administration of President Richard Nixon.

Today Senator Sanders said that President Obama failed the presidential leadership test…In the past he has called him weak.

David Axelrod tweeted: “Not a low blow”.

For his part, Sanders, who calls himself a democratic socialist, hoped to harness the momentum and enthusiasm he gained from the first two contests and prove he can be a viable contender to lead the Democratic Party to victory in the November 8 presidential election.

Sanders says universal healthcare a right, not a privilege. “I don’t think he gets the credit he deserves”.

I know a lot of Americans are angry about the economy.

In completely unrelated news, shortly after Clinton lost New Hampshire by a massive margin this week and shortly before Priorities USA announced it would come to her aid in the primary, Hillary’s campaign circulated a detailed memo outlining her strategy moving forward.

“And we can no longer continue to sweep it under the rug”, Sanders said”. “I was not that candidate”.

“I couldn’t disagree more”, Clinton said, accusing Sanders of levelling the kind of attacks on the President usually heard from Republicans. “Absolutely not, and among other things, he has not been as strong as he should standing up to Wall Street”. And he really did write a blurb for Buyer’s Remorse: How Obama let Progressives Down. His shortened blurb: “Bill Press makes the case….”

“I don’t think our country can live up to its potential unless we give a chance to every single American to live up to theirs“, Clinton said.

ASKED if they would rather see a right-wing Republican candidate become President of the United States, or one of the more lefty Democrats, a left-learning woman got the highest percentage of votes in The Gisborne Herald web poll. That is the only way real change will happen.

Clinton added that reforms needed to go beyond the justice system. He did not write a forward to the book.

Sanders countered that Clinton was not being accurate, casting the fight for universal health care as a matter of courage. That isn’t something any blurb author should take lightly. She wants Sanders to be viewed as a dreamy Grandpa without a clue.

“I understand what President Obama inherited”, Clinton said”.

The debate turned fiery only in the closing minutes, when the two clashed over foreign policy and over comments by Sanders critical of President Obama. “We bounced back from the recession, but you can’t tell that to people living on Main Street, or on Walton Street, where I grew up”.

Sanders’ challenge is to prove that he can run a viable campaign outside of the overwhelmingly white states that kicked off the nominating process. And one of his main criticisms of Obama seems to be that Obama hasn’t quite invested his whole heart in that revolution.
