Sanders, Clinton to Participate in Brooklyn Debate Co-Sponsored by NY1

“We had thought the Sanders campaign would have accepted our offer for a Brooklyn debate on April 14 in a NY minute, but it ended up taking a few extra days for them to agree…”

The Clinton camp claims Sanders rejected three proposed debates before the NY primary.

“I am also a Democrat and have been a proud Democrat all my adult life”, Clinton said at a campaign event in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, on Saturday. The second date offered was the night of April 14, the night of a GOP gala that will be extensively covered by CNN. But that isn’t stopping the Sanders campaign from mounting a huge offensive in the Empire State.

The announcement came on Monday, a week after back-and-forth between the Clinton and Sanders campaigns as they tried to negotiate a day and time for a debate in NY.

Hillary Clinton on Sunday agreed to participate in an upcoming debate hosted by ABC News’ “Good Morning America” – saying in an exclusive interview this morning, “I’ll be there”. We are glad they did. Sanders was born in the borough and Clinton has her campaign headquarters there.

One can imagine the pressure Clinton is facing as the presumptive nominee, while dealing with an FBI investigation, attacks from extreme conservatives on the right and precise attacks from the progressive, millennial-attracting Sanders supporters to her left.

“We caught the Hillary campaign cheating, we caught the Nevada Democratic Party secretary cheating”, credentials committee member Angie Sullivan said.

“We need to fix our dysfunctional political system and get unaccountable money out of it once and for all”, Clinton says, “even if that takes a constitutional amendment”. The two campaigns have been posturing and bickering for weeks over the details for the next Democratic debate.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton wrote that from here special assistant to her cabinet members, Hispanics would play an important role in helping to shape her policy priorities and will be effectively represented in the administration’s agencies. The Clinton campaign has unsurprisingly deflected each time.
