Michael Bloomberg, who was elected mayor of New York City as a Republican, will speak at the Democratic National Convention to endorse Hillary Clinton for president. Bernie Sanders had mixed feelings.

But Kaine’s other assets apparently assuaged that trepidation, and he gave a triumphant, bilingual speech during his first public appearance with Clinton as her chosen No. 2 in Miami Saturday. He has spent more than two decades learning local, state and federal government through service as a City Council member, mayor, lieutenant governor, governor and US senator – all the while never losing an election. He showcased his Spanish skills Saturday at a rally with Clinton in Florida. “I’ve known Tim Kaine for a number of years”, Sanders said.

The full interview is slated to air Sunday night. Martinez also says Kaine seems to have a lot of charisma.

“Would I have preferred to see someone like an Elizabeth Warren selected by Secretary Clinton?”

Without naming him, Kaine said he was especially moved by the story of Liviu Librescu, an engineering professor who died blocking the door as the killer attempted to enter his classroom.

And yeah, that one sure went well for those progressives who got for their protest votes two wars that almost bankrupted the country, a rollback in their precious environmental regulations, and even when Democrats finally took political power back under Barack Obama, the best they could do in healthcare was a watered-down Heritage Foundation scheme from the early 1990s.

Kaine described himself as a “utility player” who can move into whatever role will best help the ticket – and administration.

Clinton disappointed many progressives in the party when she tapped Kaine as her vice-presidential pick, citing disagreements with him on issues like Wall Street and trade agreements, in addition to having discomfort with his more socially conservative positions held in the past.

“I’ll tell you one thing, that is one lesson I have learned the hard way, and there will not be any such thing in the White House”, she said.

I voted for Tim Kaine in the past.

She would have been happier with Sen.

Warren, a MA senator, and Ohio Sen.

“I don’t think she is qualified to be the chair of the DNC not only for these very bad emails, which revealed the prejudice of the DNC, but also because we need a party that reaches out to working people and young people, and I don’t think her leadership style is doing that”, he said. “I don’t get upset about them anymore, but they. are very regrettable”. Lyndon B. Johnson, who helped deliver his state for then-Massachusetts Sen.

“It would be naive to think a pharmaceutical company like Teva was not interested in maintaining access to the governor as a result of a gift of that size”, said Andrew Miller, a former Democratic attorney general in Virginia, who now works as an energy-industry lawyer and lobbyist, referring to Teva Pharmaceuticals, which bought Barr in 2008. The decision follows a tense primary season between Sanders, largely seen as a political outsider, and Clinton, an established political juggernaut.

“I would never vote for Donald Trump”, said Kellar, an arbitrator from Pensacola.

Bloomberg has been sharply critical of Trump, and in particular of his fellow New Yorker’s inflammatory rhetoric on immigration.

Hillary Clinton isn’t someone who takes many risks. “We needed some prayers today, and we got some prayers, and we got some support, and it really feels good”.
