While many suggested the protests were aimed at the tone of Trump’s campaign, the candidate worked hard to paint the unrest as dissatisfaction with economic conditions. only to call some of the protestors “thugs” Saturday morning.

Trump said Sanders “should really get up and say to his people, ‘stop'”.

Trump, who will be at a campaign rally in Dayton, Ohio, on Saturday, cancelled the Chicago event on Friday after it turned chaotic, with scuffles breaking out between protesters and backers of the real estate magnate.

“The divisive rhetoric we are seeing should be of grave concern to us all”, Clinton said in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, one of the front runners for the republican candidate in the upcoming election Ben Carson backed out from election and came with full support to Trump that twisted the campaigning policy of trump. Protests quickly broke out among some of those in attendance as people waited for Trump to speak. “We made a decision, it would have been easier to go, but we didn’t want to see anyone hurt”. Numerous protesters also were angry at the removal of some of the anti-Trump attendees from the rally.

Police said no other injuries were reported at the event Friday night.

Trump has drawn fervent support as well as criticism for his calls to build a wall along the US-Mexico border and to impose a temporary ban on Muslims entering the country. You know why. I mean in all fairness to Bernie, the reason there no Hillary people, they have no fervor.

Trump said he hadn’t wanted to cancel the event but did so over safety concerns. “There is no place for a national leader to prey on the fears of people”, he added, saying Trump allowed his supporters to “come together in violence”. In Chicago, entire sections of the arena were filled with protesters, with even more waiting outside.

“To see Americans slugging themselves at a political rally deeply disturbed me”, Kasich said while campaigning in Cincinnati.

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, second in delegates to Trump in the GOP race, said late Friday that the billionaire has created “an environment that encourages this sort of nasty discourse”. When asked about the planned rally in the city last night, which was shut down by protesters, Sanders explained that the incident was indicative of Trump’s cultivating of hatred.

“Everybody’s not racist. Everybody’s not sexist”, she said of Trump’s supporters.
