Sanders groups, supporters begin to coalesce around Clinton
Presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton will be joined by Democratic rival and Senator Bernie Sanders at a campaign rally Tuesday in the Northeastern city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire.

According to FiveThirtyEight’s Nate Silver, if Clinton is able to swing Sanders supporters-the majority of whom have come to view her increasingly unfavorably-she will lead Donald Trump by a comfortable margin in national and swing state polls. Rumors have been circulating that Sanders might endorse Clinton as early as Tuesday, during a New Hampshire rally, but is that really happening? Sanders carried New Hampshire in the Democratic primary by a huge margin, earning 60 percent to Clinton’s 38 percent.
He was successful. Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party have embraced many of his ideas, which is why Bernie Sanders is campaigning with Clinton tomorrow.
Sanders eventually made a decision to come aboard after pushing the Democratic Party platform left on a number of issues, including on minimum wage, and convincing Clinton to adopt a more robust college affordability plan. “CWA will do everything we can to mobilize our members and activists to elect Hillary Clinton President of the United States”.
Sanders and Clinton have come out against the trade deal, but President Barack Obama supports it. Clinton supporters, including labor leaders, believed that toughening the trade language made enough of a statement without directly opposing the president, whom they did not mention during their public comments.
Clinton said in a statement Saturday, “We have more work to do to finish our long fight to provide universal, quality, affordable health care to everyone in America”.
An announcement from Sanders’ campaign said “U.S. Sen”. “I think it’s fair to say that the Clinton campaign and I, our campaign, are coming closer and closer together”, Sanders said Saturday. It went on to say that Democrats would apply those standards “to all trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership”.
Sanders announced a month ago after the final Democratic primary race in Washington, DC that his goal shifted to trying to gain influence over the official party platform.
Lee, a former co-chairwoman of the House Progressive Caucus, said Monday that she was “confident that Hillary Clinton will unite the party around the progressive issues outlined in the platform”.
She’s also reaffirming her support for a public-option insurance plan and for expanding Medicaid by letting people 55 years and older opt in to the program.

Clinton’s campaign announced a cheaper version of Sanders’ plan to offer free tuition for in-state colleges.
