Sanders: Iowa Caucus Proves I’m Competitive No Matter Final Outcome
With Martin O’Malley out of the race, Bernie Sanders now can focus his energy on Hillary Clinton.

While Sanders has identified opportunities down the road beyond New Hampshire in caucus states like Colorado, Minnesota and Maine, Clinton aides note that they have had a presence on the ground in those states as far back as Labor Day. In her traditional campaign speeches, Clinton often slams the planned merger between auto supplier Johnson Controls and Tyco as an abuse of the tax code.
The Hawkeye State was not supposed to be this close for Clinton. Entrance polls showed that the only group who favored her were the oldest women – those over 65. Young voters identify with Sanders because he is so candid and earnest – his 36,000 student volunteers prove Sanders’s resonation.

Clinton was the subject of tough headlines headed into the weekend as the State Department refused to release 22 of her emails, retroactively classifying them – and raising the specter, once again, of a lengthy, damaging federal investigation into her private email use during her tenure as secretary of state.
“This is a campaign that will go all the way to the convention”, Guma, author of “The People’s Republic: Vermont and the Sanders Revolution” said. A DNC official says talks are ongoing for more debates, and they are waiting for agreement from the campaigns.
“We will struggle tonight if the voter turnout is low”.
Ultimately, I expect that’s what Democrats will do – because as much as they love Sanders, they loathe Donald Trump more.
The age gap is stark. If evangelical turnout swells to 60 percent Monday, Trump’s projected lead shrinks to 1. Sanders himself made the point while campaigning in the state yesterday.
Cruz turned Iowa into a boom-or-bust state when he predicted that Trump might run the table if he wins the Hawkeye State and told voters that caucusing for anyone else amounts to supporting Trump. He points to Iowa as the place where a majority-white electorate voted for a black candidate in Obama, focusing on his ideas instead of his skin color. That’s important in a caucus state that won’t report raw vote, but shares of delegates. Once the first set of voters get a say, some of the candidates on the margins are likely to take the hint and step aside.
“I’m Hillary’s captain for your caucus and you’ll find me at your caucus wearing a blue shirt that says ‘captain, ‘” Luther wrote. Though she was at the Clinton event, she said she supports Republican Chris Christie.
“Nope, nope. That is not, I think, a fair assessment”.
The long string of presidential elections ahead of them is full of the possibility – or even the probability, as Zappa sees it – of a female president. You can go over to where the undecided folks are, or even to someone in the opposing camp, and try to get them to come over to your candidate.
With the Democratic contest a likely toss-up, Mr Sanders told a Manchester rally that the outcome depended on how many Iowans invested the time and energy to make it to caucus sites.
While Clinton had more support in central Iowa, Sanders claimed other metro counties, including Linn, Scott and Woodbury.
However, it is a reason that amps up their enthusiasm.
The Iowa caucus is Monday, when the caucus-goers will decide what recent polls are showing to be a tight race.
“It’s don’t think it’s the only thing, and it might not be the main thing”.
Dubuque resident Dennis Williams was one of the few O’Malley supporters assembled at the Tri-State Blind Society. For months they told us because we offer too much optimism in a time of anger, we had no chance….
“There are so many children that need to grow up in a situation where it’s normal to have a female president”, said Kim Frederick of Houston.
Mrs Clinton has worked assiduously to avoid a repeat of 2008, when then-Illinois senator Barack Obama scored a surprise win in Iowa.
I thought her closing argument in Iowa wasn’t very compelling. With trademark sarcasm, he mocked the rich, yelling: “How can I get by on one house?” Can you please make this happen? But she promised a vigorous campaign with Sanders. He knows who the bad guys are.

Moore may be all in for Sanders, but that doesn’t mean he dislikes Hillary. General election voters may want to hear about experience and pragmatism. In the end were all Democrats and we will support our candidate, the captain said to applause from all quarters. Trumpmania may not be translating to quite as many votes as it would suggest. “Representatives from all three Democratic presidential campaigns were in attendance, making the case for…”
