After the speech, Trump blitzed Clinton on Twitter, calling her “a captive of Wall Street” and questioning her character, tweeting: “Corruption and devastation follows her wherever she goes”.
Clinton called on Americans to consider Donald Trump’s “temperament”. “Instead we will build an economy where everyone who wants a good job can get one, and we’ll build a path to citizenship to millions who are already contributing to our economy”.
With chants of “Hell no DNC, we won’t vote for Hillary” and “Lock her up”, the protesters made it clear they would not be casting their votes for Hillary Clinton. “Your cause is our cause”, she said, although boos were audible at points in the speech.
And she pledged to defeat the Islamic State group with air strikes and support for local ground forces, while authorising a “surge” in intelligence to prevent terrorist attacks. “We must unite around the candidate who can defeat a risky demagogue”, he said, in his speech.
The convention formally anointed Clinton on Tuesday as the Democratic nominee, who will now go up against Trump in the November 8 election.

Obama opened his speech by recalling his first time speaking at the Democratic National Convention. “I see Americans of every party, every background, every faith who believe that we are stronger together – black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, young, old, gay, straight, men, women, folks with disabilities all pledging allegiance under the same proud flag to this great, bold country that we love”.
