Sanders narrows gap on Clinton in new poll
Speaking with Fox News, Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta acknowledged he’s hearing some concerns among fellow Democrats about Sanders gaining ground in the two early-voting states.

She is particularly under the gun in New Hampshire, where Sanders has opened up a 14-point lead, 53 percent to 39 percent, according to a Monmouth University poll released Tuesday.
A Quinnipiac University poll had Sanders leading by five percentage points in Iowa, 49 percent to 44 percent.
Vice President Joe Biden on Monday described Democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders as more authentic on economic inequality than Hillary Clinton.
The former attorney general will campaign for Clinton in an upcoming swing to SC, accompanying her to a state Democratic Party dinner Saturday and a Sunday debate sponsored by NBC News and the Congressional Black Caucus. “I’m going to keep talking about what the next president will have to do starting January 20, 2017”, Clinton said.
“Bernie says, the next day, ‘I didn’t expect any help from the establishment”, Brown said. Sanders does just as well as Clinton against Trump, slightly better than Clinton against Cruz, and slightly better than Clintonagainst Rubio. By the way, Hillary is momentarily way, way, way ahead in SC, which she’s hoping will be her firewall if things go sideways in Iowa and New Hampshire. He leads by 5 points in the poll, after having trailed by 11 points in the previous survey from December.
Clinton hit Sanders at an event in Ames – where she also picked up an endorsement from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence – for bragging about standing up to special interests, but siding with the National Rifle Association on certain legislation.
And complicating matters, Sanders’ strategy in both states is based explicitly on defying historical precedent and getting unlikely voters and caucus-goers to turn out for him. “He can run his campaign however he wishes”, Clinton said, pivoting into a criticism of Trump’s opposition to equal pay and minimum wage laws. The Quinnipiac poll brings the two candidates into very close competition, with Clinton now leading in Iowa in the Real Clear Politics average by just.
Weighing in on a race he nearly joined, Biden said he never thought Clinton was the prohibitive favorite to win the nomination. But on climate change, the third most important issue, Sanders held a wide advantage over Clinton, 51 percent to 32 percent.

Clinton has reiterated her support for the Buffett rule, named after billionaire investor and Clinton endorser Warren Buffett, which would institute a minimum tax rate of 30 per cent on those earning more than $1 million per year. “It’s not one thing the next president has to do”, Clinton says.
