San Diego is considered a binational city by many who live and work on opposite sides of the border, and about a third of the city’s population is Latino.

Trump made it clear Thursday that he wants to follow through with the debate. Police reported making at least three arrests.

At the time of writing, the hashtag continues to trend in the United States.

The prospect of a debate between Sanders and Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, was first raised a night earlier on the late-night talk show during an appearance by Trump.

The Sanders campaign – which has been looking to debate Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton before California’s primary on June 7 – continued to push the idea on Thursday, with Sanders himself broaching the topic at the top of remarks at a Revolt TV town hall on Thursday morning in Hollywood.

A recent ABC News/Washington Post poll showed Clinton tied with Trump.
