Sanders Not Dropping Out Yet After Meeting With Obama

Sanders is vowing to run through next week’s primary contests but party leaders are hoping he will drop his presidential bid after that. The meeting was confirmed by a Clinton campaign official who wasn’t authorized to speak on the record.

Two Sanders camp sources told CNBC that Obama had “signaled” he would make a Clinton endorsement after their meeting ended today.

Clinton has repeatedly said she chose “not to keep” some 30,000 emails her lawyers deemed personal, which has been widely interpreted as meaning she deleted the personal emails.

“Needless to say, I am going to do everything in my power and I will work as hard as I can to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States”, Sanders said. “I think this man in a dozen different ways is not fit to become president”.

By the time election day arrives, Conyne noted, enough of these independents will come to realize that a Trump presidency is unimaginable and Clinton should win out, albeit by a close margin.

The next step for Clinton is to formally hit the campaign trail, which she will do early next week with stops in the key states of OH and Pennsylvania.

Sanders plans to meet privately with Clinton in Washington on Tuesday evening as the District of Columbia holds the last primary of the Democratic race.

Obama was not the only high profile Democratic endorsement Clinton secured Thursday.

Earnest characterized the Obama-Sanders meeting at his daily press briefing, calling the campaign “a remarkable accomplishment”.

Regardless of the GOP’s responses, it was too late; the Internet went wild upon reading the Democratic presidential nominee’s tweet, crowning Hill the queen of shade.

“Whether it’s the Wall Street speech transcripts she refuses to release, her ties to the fossil fuel industry, or coziness with big banks, Hillary Clinton represents everything Elizabeth Warren supposedly stands against”.

“I am with her”.

Despite both President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden declaring their support for Clinton, Sanders has only committed to joining his rival in fighting against Donald Trump.

He said his campaign would be fully engaged in the Washington, D.C., primary election next week, the final of the primary season.
