Sanders, On Break from New Hampshire, Helps SNL Feel the Bern
The news comes by way of Deadline, who report that Sanders will stop by SNL while Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David hosts this weekend. However, having David on the show did result in some new takes on political jabs, aided by a touted Sanders appearance and a slew of non-political sketches that were amusing enough to make everyone wonder why “SNL” didn’t hire David on as a cast member way back when.

Sanders said his name was Bernie Sanderswitzky but he was going to change it when he got to America so it wouldn’t sound so Jewish. Where Sanders ends and David begins, we’ll never know. It features all of the emblematic quirks and idiosyncrasies that have come to be synonymous with David in his assumed character as the democratic presidential hopeful. And in a nod to Donald Trump and David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sanders responds, “Huge difference”.
During a “Titanic”-esque skit, David was arguing he should be given a spot on the sinking ship’s lifeboat because he was from a wealthy family”.
See the promo and catch Bernie Sanders on NBC this Saturday at 11:30 ET.
I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of glad we’ll be seeing them in the same room.
The appearance is a no-lose proposition for Sanders, who’s already clobbering Hillary Clinton with young voters and gets a chance to pick up more support.
According to the Sanders campaign, the senator will appear on SNL just days before the New Hampshire primary.
Bernie said, “We need to unite and work together if we’re all going to get through this!”

The real Bernie embraces David’s impression of him, telling CNN’s Anderson Cooper, “I am Larry David”, during a Democratic town hall on Wednesday.
