Sanders poised to endorse Clinton at upcoming event

The comments further Frank’s long history of criticizing the Vermont senator for being stubborn, a beef that dates back 25 years to their days in Congress together.

Sanders met with House Democrats Wednesday during which he was reportedly booed for failing to endorse Clinton.

Still, Sanders is agitating for more at Democratic National Convention’s full platform committee meeting in Orlando.

Who, then, can blame Sanders supporters for refusing to embrace a candidate who represents more of the same?

Robinson said he plans to attend the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia and wants to maintain an open mind, but he’s not inclined to vote for Clinton. He repeated his pledge to help defeat Donald Trump again Thursday in an interview with Bloomberg View’s Al Hunt.

The Vermont Senator still has yet to officially drop out of the presidential race, but has been slowly inching his way towards #TeamHil ever since she became the presumptive Democratic nominee last month.

Sanders said the plan combined “some of the strongest ideas which she fought for during the campaign with some of the principles I fought for”.

It’s no coincidence these talks heated up and appear ready to result in ultimate success because the draft of the official party platform will be finalized over the weekend in Orlando. The Democrats spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss private conversations they were not authorized to disclose.

Furthermore, 60 percent of Sanders primary supporters say that there is at least a 75 percent chance that they end up supporting Clinton in November while just 23 percent say there is less than a 50-50 chance they will end up supporting the former Secretary of State.

Clinton’s new plan, called The New College Compact, would offer free tuition at in-state four-year public colleges and universities, as well as community colleges, to families making up to $125,000 a year by 2021.

However, Clinton has been moving left to try and minimize some of the possible damage and capture some of those young Sanders supporters.

By this week, Democrats were running out of patience. Even if she personally shakes his hand and agrees to putting progressive issues in her agenda, Robinson said her record doesn’t fill him with any sense of being able to trust her. Barack Obama, Clinton ended her presidential bid and endorsed him in a speech June 7. The two then campaigned together in Unity, New Hampshire, three weeks later.

Sen. Bernie Sanders confirmed Wednesday night that he is preparing to possibly endorse Hillary Clinton, reports ABC News.

Middlebury College political science professor Matt Dickinson says Sanders is sticking to his belief that the Democratic Party needs to be transformed on some basic economic issues. His aides stress his millions of votes and his highly motivated delegates to the convention. Fifty-five percent of Trump voters said they’d vote for the billionaire businessman because they wanted to vote against Clinton, more than the 41 percent who said their ballot would be cast because they supported Trump. By Super Tuesday on March 1, she had built a delegate lead that Sanders never caught up to.
