Sanders protesters shut down media tent; police bar press from space
Shortly after a march of more than 1,000 people arrived at the convention center Monday afternoon, protesters lined the tall metal fences separating them from the Wells Fargo Center while they waved signs and implored passing delegates and others to support Senator Bernie Sanders over Hillary Clinton.

Police officers were posted at street corners in downtown Philadelphia as the first protesters hit the city’s sweltering streets Sunday ahead of the Democratic National Convention. But they have been hosting protests and marches all week.
About 70 Sanders protesters, including several from Georgia, entered the tent quietly but quickly and refuse to speak to reporters. Many are wearing tape over their mouths.
The protests come as Sanders called for the head of the DNC to step down after leaked emails suggested the party played favorites during the presidential primary. “Our progressives in Georgia need to have the long ball in mind”.
Clinton, who made the unannounced, brief remarks, also said: “If there are any little girls out there who stayed up late to watch, let me just say I may become the first woman president but one of you is next”.

“We’re protesting a false democracy”, Higgins said. “It comes with the understanding that we as black people are the most disenfranchised in this country, if there is going to be any type of revolution, the freedom and the liberation of our people because we are the most oppressed communities”. “We are angry. We are doing this on our own free will, individually and collectively”.
