Sanders’ run is no fairy tale

In it, she declares “It’s time to pick a side, either we stand with the gun lobby, or we join the president and stand up to them”. Bernie Sanders next week in Iowa and New Hampshire, CNN has learned. Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton’s biggest challenger in the Democratic presidential primary, has one son. And as the race gets tighter, both campaigns are sharpening their elbows.

David Axelrod, another veteran of Obama’s political team, said that while Clinton may have valid points about the feasibility of Sanders’ policy proposals, she risks once again being seen as someone who will work within the system, not someone who will remake it.

He recounted how Hillary Clinton negotiated with foreign leaders, such as Russia’s Vladimir Putin, when she was secretary of state. But no names are named, so some sort of plausible deniability is maintained. Many in the Democratic establishment are assuming he can’t.

One Clinton ally on Capitol Hill said some in the party are starting to seriously consider what it would mean for Democrats nationally if Sanders were to win.

One might ask, why are the campaigns arguing about the semantics of what counts as a negative ad?

“I wish that we could elect a Democratic president who could wave a magic wand and say, ‘We shall do this, and we shall do that, ‘ ” Clinton said this week in Iowa. Jimmy added that she should turn the republican debate into a drinking game where she would have to drink every time a candidate said something bad about her. She said that she wouldn’t make it 30 minutes.

“You know he’s been fringe for a while, but he’s gaining momentum now, and definitely is now viable as a candidate”.

“I think you’re dodging watching these debates”, Fallon teased.

A series of interviews and a burgeoning friendship with rapper Killer Mike seemed to help Sanders open up to a new, younger audience. Last month, the same poll indicated that Sanders trailed the frontrunner by 20 percentage points; and the organizations’ more recent poll, he is only seven behind.

For the true believers this is no surprise. But he said he was troubled to see that the crowd at a Democratic rally was nearly completely white, even though Marshalltown has a large Hispanic population. After giving speeches in Sioux City and Marshalltown on Friday, Clinton addressed a crowd of some 450 people who had packed into the Northwest Junior High School gymnasium in Coralville, speaking at length about his wife’s successes leading up to and during her tenure on the U.S. Senate in the early 2000s. (And we’re not the only ones reaching that conclusion.) If that’s the case, it’s an nearly unbelievable misstep by a politician who should know a lot better. That’s just outside the poll’s 4.4 percent margin of error. And this is likely what explains the change in tone of the campaign.
