Sanders Says Obama Has Been ‘Fair and Even-Handed’

“Now she is asking to change the rules to schedule a debate next week that is not sanctioned by the DNC”, Sanders Campaign Manager Jeff Weaver said in a statement.

He said his wife’s gradual approach was best.

Sanders said he doesn’t believe that is the case.

“That ability to engage Democrats and excite them and inspire them will be critical to the success of Democrats up and down the ballot, whether Senator Sanders is the nominee or not”, Earnest said.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton continues to “feel the Bern” as she loses altitude nationally in her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.

This is not the first ad comparing the top two candidates of the Democratic primary.

Clinton dropped by the White House for an informal lunch on December 7 and had an hourlong chat in March. White House officials say the men lack much of a personal relationship and have markedly different approaches to politics. But Sanders is far more popular among liberals and younger voters who think he speaks to their aspirations and would bring about fundamental change to government and politics and address income inequality between middle class Americans and the “billionaire class”.

Maddow – who earlier this year hosted a Democratic forum in SC attended by Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Martin O’Malley – has been rabble rousing when she’s interviewed the candidates on her show. Sanders said that invitations must also be send to both O’Malley and Clinton.

These are goals that all of us Democrats across the party spectrum should unhesitatingly give our full-throated support to, now in this election season, and into the future for as long as it takes to achieve them.

“No, of course not”, Sanders said when asked if he asked for Obama’s endorsement.

Sanders went on to describe the meeting as “positive and constructive”.

On Wednesday, Obama and Sanders are set to begin meeting behind closed doors at 11:45 a.m. ET. “The two will meet privately in the Oval Office and there will be no formal agenda”.

Responding to a question, Sanders appeared to be supporting Obama’s policy against the ISIS. But the senator hasn’t been a close ally or regular staple in strategy meetings. First he expressed doubt that turnout would be anything like 2008’s or that he could match Obama’s margin.

As they enter the final stretch, Clinton is touting her experience as secretary of state and Sanders brought a movie star to Des Moines to help capture the female vote.
