Sanders tries to sway Democratic superdelegates
But Donald Trump says his general election race against Hillary Clinton has “sort of already started”.

Clinton’s visit to the Golden State Thursday coincides with Cinco de Mayo, the annual celebration of Mexican culture and heritage.
Bill Clinton planned to attend a rally later in Charleston.
The event will carry symbolic value.
In a hypothetical match-up, 43 percent of registered voters would support Clinton, while 37 percent would support Trump. Barack Obama as woefully inexperienced for the job he was seeking. I’m running to become president, to really deal with the economy, get it working again, take on all the barriers that stand in the way of people of people getting ahead.
The lone state that voted on Tuesday was a test of the continued potency of Sanders’ fight as the Vermont senator sought to maintain his political revolution as a force with which Clinton will need to wrestle. Hispanics alone make up about half the population in Los Angeles County. Trump, a New York-based real estate mogul who made money from constructing buildings, and a popular reality television star, joined politics about 10 months ago.
Until recently, the California primary had looked like the make-or-break contest for candidates on both sides of the aisle.
Bernie Sanders acknowledged Sunday that his “uphill climb” to the Democratic nomination depends on persuading superdelegates, the elected officials, lobbyists and other party insiders who are free to back either candidate. But it will be a much-needed fundraising and momentum boost to a fading candidate who has pledged to stay in the race until the Democratic National Convention in July, even though his only path to victory involves improbable landslides and fanciful schemes to flip superdelegates.
“There is nothing that I have said about Secretary Clinton that the Republicans are not more than aware of”.
“The reality is that the overwhelming number who are committed to her did so because they think she’ll be the strongest president in these very challenging times”, he said. The former first lady heads to Oakland on Friday. “Whether Democrats ultimately choose unpopular Federal Bureau of Investigation target Hillary Clinton or socialist Senator Bernie Sanders, their down-ballot candidates will be saddled with an extremely flawed candidate at the top of the ticket”.
“It is time to unite our party and defeat Hillary Clinton”, Trump yesterday said in a message to his supporters after winning the in primary, where he got more than 52 per cent of the votes polled.
“We’re going the distance”, Trump rival Ted Cruz said on ABC’s This Week, arguing that Mr Trump will not be able to get the majority of delegates required to clinch the nomination. That means that many voters will be making decisions weeks before June 7.
His priorities are becoming increasingly clear: an emphasis on changing the campaign finance system and the role of superdelegates in the Democratic nominating system.
“Of course it’s mathematically possible for him to win 65 percent of the remaining pledged delegates”, Abramowitz said, “But the probability of that actually happening is near zero”.
California has always been favorable terrain for the Clintons. And Tuesday’s win doesn’t propel Sanders very far; he and Clinton will roughly split Indiana’s 83 Democratic delegates because his victory was narrow. The familiarity of the Clinton name could be an asset.

Clinton added, “Imagine if white kids were 500 percent more likely to die from asthma than black kids”.
