Sanders Triumphs in Wyoming, Prepares to Take on Clinton in NY
As the U.S. presidential nomination campaign is heading towards decisive caucuses, Democratic contestant Bernie Sanders has won another state, Wyoming, registering seventh consecutive victory over the forerunner Hillary Clinton.

Democratic underdog candidate Bernie Sanders won the Wyoming Democratic caucus on Saturday, leading Hillary Clinton by almost 11 points. It is likely that former Sec. of State Clinton will reach the number of total delegates needed to clinch the nomination.
Clinton said she’s enjoyed being back on home turf, as she served as the state’s senator from 2001 to 2009. The Sanders campaign is already using the win to spark up support for a key victory in NY.
“People of colour have a deeply vested interest in what Bernie Sanders brings to us in this election”, singer and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte says in the 30-second spot.
Sen. Bernie Sanders’ string of recent victories could mean the NY primary may be the most important contest yet for the Democrats.
“We are on the path to the nomination”, Clinton promised, “But I need to win big here in NY”.
However rival Hillary Clinton maintains a clear lead in the overall race. The senator from Vermont has now won seven out of eight primaries and caucuses.
Currently Clinton has 1,286 delegates to Sanders’ 1,037.
“I just want them to understand that we have tried to run an issue-oriented campaign but that we are not going to be attacked every single day”, Sanders said. Sanders has reminded voters he was born and raised in Brooklyn. “We are closing very fast”. He did an outdoor interview in New York City with CNN’s Jake Tapper, where he essentially calls Clinton “condescending”.
The state also has four so-called “superdelegates”, party leaders or elected officials who can vote for anyone they please at the convention.
