With the focus now turning onto next Saturday’s caucus in SC, recent backing from Ta-Nehisi Coates, Michelle Alexander and a narrowing of Clinton’s lead among young black voters suggests that Sanders is gaining momentum.

Clinton and Sanders, a USA senator from Vermont, have been courting support from black civil rights leaders and voters as the Democratic race has moved on from mostly white Iowa, where Clinton narrowly won, and New Hampshire, where Sanders routed Clinton. He lost to Texas Sen.
A day after winning the Nevada Democratic caucuses, Hillary Clinton asserted Sunday that she really wants to improve American lives and isn’t running for president for selfish reasons.
Sanders downplayed Clinton’s weekend victory in Nevada, pointing out that the win only resulted in her picking up four additional delegates, out of the 2,383 needed to win the nomination.
Entrance polls conducted by Edison indicated Bernie Sanders won the Hispanic vote over Mrs Clinton in Nevada by 8 percentage points, a sign of potential weakness for Mrs Clinton even as she won Nevada overall.
Trump says he had a big win on Saturday and that “the people of SC got it”.
Clinton and Trump’s victories put them in strong positions ahead of “Super Tuesday” when the multi-state voting contests begin on March 1. Iowa and New Hampshire are overwhelmingly white and Democrats in those states tend to be more liberal than the national party. Barack Obama outgunned Clinton for the party nomination by establishing a 100 delegate advantage that she was never able to overcome.
Sanders won heavily among the roughly one-quarter of voters who said the most important thing was a nominee who cares about people like them.
A Public Policy Polling survey conducted last week showed Sanders beating Clinton by 7 points, 49-42 percent, in MA. Eighty-two percent of voters 29 years old and under supported Sanders, polls showed.
‘Well, obviously I think what the secretary has recognized is the American people are extremely angry about the power of Wall Street, the greed, the illegal behavior of Wall Street, ‘ Sanders said this morning on Meet.
And then coming up is Super Tuesday – March 1 – when voters in a dozen states plus American Samoa pick their presidential favorites. “That is a major breakthrough for us in reaching out to a diverse nation”, he said.
“That’s just a step forward that we need to take as a society”. Candidates who get knocked down and find a way to get back up. “We were taking on a candidate who ran in 2008, she knew Nevada a lot better than we did”.

In Nevada, thousands packed schools, casinos and hotels to vote, including scores of first-time caucus-goers who favored Sanders.
