Sanders Wins Wyoming But Still Has A long Way to Go

With just 14 delegates, Wyoming has the fewest pledged delegates to offer among the 50 states.

“The government now has the responsibility and the opportunity to take the lead in creating a lot of new jobs”, Bill Clinton said.

Clinton has repeatedly said she would only release transcripts from three speeches she performed for Goldman Sachs after she stepped down as secretary of state – for which she earned a total of $675,000 – once her presidential rivals did the same, a position she reiterated during her meeting with The News.

Clinton said Saturday at a rally in Brooklyn that she wants to “send a strong message” in the state’s primary and start unifying the Democratic Party, and she urged New Yorkers to help lock up the Democratic nomination so “we can go after the Republicans full time”.

Democratic presidential hopefuls were also focused on New York’s big trove of delegates even as Wyoming gave its nod to Mr Sanders over Mrs Clinton.

With 96 percent of Wyoming vote counted, Sanders had 56 percent to Clinton’s 44 percent, according to the Associated Press.

Bernie Sanders is pointing to the Justice Department’s roughly $5 billion settlement with Goldman Sachs over the sale of mortgage-backed securities, saying it’s a system that must be changed.

“People of colour have a deeply vested interest in what Bernie Sanders brings to us in this election”, singer and civil rights activist Harry Belafonte says in the 30-second spot.

Sanders campaigned in the state Tuesday, and his wife Jane also made a separate appearance during the past week. Sanders outperforms Clinton over Trump in the swing states of Arizona, North Carolina, Ohio and Wisconsin, as well.

“Sanders, as well as Trump, say things in a forceful, simplistic way”, said Kenneth Fernandez, director of the Elon University Poll in North Carolina. Sanders has won seven of the last eight contests in the Democratic race and could extend that string Saturday in Wyoming.

Sanders has been on a winning streak in state contests, but Clinton is confident about the NY primary April 19 and later votes.

More than 8,700 Democrats caucused in 2008.

Republicans, meanwhile, are in neighboring Colorado for a party convention where every delegate matters on the road to Cleveland’s GOP convention and Donald Trump is trying to clinch the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination. Sanders touted his plan to raise taxes on those making $250,000 or more, a move that he said would extend the life of the program and allow for an increase in benefits for those with the greatest need.

On Sunday, her former boss, President Barack Obama, said he did not believe the arrangement harmed national security, despite more than 2,000 of her emails containing classified information, which the government bans from being handled outside secure, government-controlled channels.

Clinton, for her part, told a Latino crowd in Brooklyn, that “I actually think NY values are really good for America”.
