For Sanders to rack up more delegates than Clinton, he’d have to win by landslides (10 points or more) in New York, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and California.

Wyoming, a deeply red state, isn’t exactly up for grabs in the general election; most onlookers expect the state to vote Republican, no matter who the GOP ends up choosing as its nominee.

That matters because Sanders has dominated the caucus format so far, in which turnout tends to be low and campaign organization and enthusiasm can be crucial.

However, Sanders’ victory will not have much of an impact on his campaign as he secures just seven of the 14 delegates from the state. He also won in Idaho, Utah, Colorado and Washington state.

Bernie Sanders has declared victory in the Wyoming Democratic caucuses. Clinton is credited by the AP with 469 superdelegates.

Phillip Wallach, a senior fellow in governance studies at the Brookings Institution, said that it does “certainly feel like Clinton is on her heels”, but he doesn’t think it will last.
