Sandro hopes the fans see the best of him at West Brom

West Brom face two key games against Premier League strugglers Swansea City and Newcastle United next week, but Pulis insists he will field a strong side against Peterborough United in Saturday’s FA Cup fourth round.

Trevor Sinclair has suggested that Saido Berahino should sit out the remainder of his contract at West Bromwich Albion if the club do not let him join Newcastle United.

The Daily Mail reports that the player is desperate to secure a transfer to Tottenham this month as Mauricio Pochettino considers bolstering his attacking options.

WEST BROM: (4-4-2): Myhill; Dawson, McAuley, Evans, Pocognoli; Sessegnon (Anichebe 67), Gardner, Yacob, McLean; Berahino, Lambert (Rondon 63).

So far this season the 22-year-old has made 20 appearances for the Baggies in all competitions scoring eight goals.

“Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will make a renewed attempt to sign Saido Berahino”, reported John Cross in the Mirror on Tuesday.

With Berahino looking very unsettled at West Brom and Tony Pulis trying very hard to instill some discipline in him, it is unlikely that he will feature much more for the Baggies this season.

“There’s two more days to wait”. He is a footballer first and foremost and I think sometimes people forget that he needs to play and he hasn’t played. He will score but we have to get him up to a level of match fitness.

“Saido’s a goalscorer. He’s not fit but when he’s in front of goal he’s calm and has a wonderful ability to put the ball in the back of the net”.

“I spoke to the manager and was impressed”, Sandro told the club’s website.

The transfers of Andros Townsend and Jonjo Shelvey have seen a significant shift to bringing in players who already have a track record in the Premier League.
