Sandy Hook 3rd Anniversary
“On Monday, the third anniversary of the Sandy Hook shooting that claimed the lives of 20 innocent children and six educators, we’ll stand proud knowing that our president is taking action to keep guns out of the hands of risky people”, the organization said in a statement.

School officials say they’ll try to make the day as normal as possible for the students, but they’re planning for a “full day of quality teaching and learning”.
The report, which was released by NBC News on the anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, showed that mass shootings still account for a tiny portion of gun deaths involving USA children.
Since the massacre on December 14, 2012, many states have made access to guns easier, when it should have been the other way around.
Also killed were school principal Dawn Hochsprung, school psychologist Mary Sherlach, teachers Victoria Soto and Lauren Rousseau, behavioral therapist Rachel Davino and school aide Anne Marie Murphy. “We are sick and exhausted of seeing on the news…this mass shooting that mass shooting, these people shot”.
State Sen. Nicholas Scutari told the crowd that the United States is too silent on the issue of gun violence.
Memorials for the 26 lives lost will be held at different services over the weekend. We plan to post details about these in the very near future. It will include prayers, music and time for lighting candles, but not a lot of speeches, said the Rev. Matthew Crebbin, pastor of Newtown Congregational Church and coordinator of the Newtown Interfaith Clergy Association.
Earlier Monday, the Newtown Recovery and Resiliency Team was providing counseling and a “quiet place to reflect or find support”.
“It’s shooting everywhere and we don’t want that to happen”, she said.
“We’re just going to be there for one another this year”.
Eric Fleegler, a doctor at Boston Children’s Hospital who has studied state gun laws, said he worries that the expansion of gun rights could cause more fights to escalate into deadly confrontations, more people to commit suicide and more kids to die from gun accidents.
The Sandy Hook shooting has served as a rallying cry for gun control activists, who have faced stiff resistance from the gun lobby and Republican lawmakers. Construction is scheduled to be finished by fall of 2016, according to the project website.

“I have respect beyond words for the personal bravery and strength of the survivors in Newtown and for the tens of thousands of others who shoulder such pain and loss each day across our nation”, Blumenthal said.
