Sane in Manchester ahead of City move

Sane wanted away from German club Schalke and they found it hard to keep hold of him after City showed interest.

With John Stones also closing in on a £50m move to join City, Pep Guardiola is developing a formidable squad.

Schalke had reportedly given the Premier League side a deadline of noon today to finalise the transfer, and multiple sources are this morning claiming that Sané has flown to Manchester to further discuss personal terms and undergo a medical.

Bild has said the deal will see City pay an initial €37 million with bonuses potentially taking the deal up to €55m.

But a deal looks set to be finalised as Sane posed for pictures with in the Radisson Blu hotel in Manchester – as did City’s new summer signing Ilkay Gundogan.

Sane, who was part of Germany’s Euro 2016 squad, made 42 appearances in all competitions for Schalke last season, scoring nine goals and providing seven assists.

Guardiola spoke to reporters on Thursday following Manchester City’s penalty shoot-out victory over Borussia Dortmund in the International Champions Cup in China.
