He beat Roger Federer in four sets on Thursday. The reigning NBA Most Valuable Player bombed in five three-pointers as the Warriors (41-4) shot 11-for-26 from beyond the arc in the first meeting of the top two teams in the West this season. Sania and Martina held their service game and broke the 13th seeds’ serve again in the sixth game to take a 5-1 advantage.

Rod Laver wants some company in the Grand Slam group, and thinks it could be Novak Djokovic.
The second set was slightly easier as Hlavackova and Hradecka lost some of their steam. He won the first set in 22 minutes.
Sania is also in contention in the women’s doubles event, where she reached the final partnering Hingis.
Having fallen to a 1-4 deficit, the Hradecka-Hlavackova combination managed to break back with some resolute defence and sharp volleys, but Mirza scooped in a delicate lob and Hingis chipped a stunning acute volley to move within one game of the title at 5-2.
Sania will have Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna as the top options for pairing in mixed doubles at Rio Olympics. This was Sania’s fourth final at a Major in the women’s doubles.

No. 7-seeded Kerber led 3-0 before Konta went on a four-game roll to get back into the set. “Like her groundstrokes, her return is really fantastic, and her forehand is, if not the best in the world – okay, maybe Serena (Williams) can hit it as hard”, she said of the women’s No. 1 who will play in Saturday’s singles final. After the first set Martina Hingis took a medical time out. Mirza and Dodig were to play Elena Vesnina and Bruno Soares, with the victor to play American Coco Vandeweghe and Horia Tecau of Romania in Sunday’s final.
