Santa will be in town this afternoon to collect letters from children at this year’s Santa’s Parade of Lights. He has an affinity of sorts with the university since his school, Canadian Martyrs, often gets invited to Maurauders games, said the children’s mother Nicole Barahona. Of course, the highlight was the arrival of Santa. “It’s just the fact that they’re charging me for something that was free a year ago, something that should be free”.

Denise Huffman, Tyson’s mother-in-law, said annual events like the parade allows both parents and children to do something together both safe and fun.

“He doesn’t like to drive much in the dark”, she said, about her husband.

Nisa Drozdowski is the Media Coordinator for RWP Events who is putting on this year’s parade and she explain’s what’s new this year. “This is one of those parades when you see everyone out”.

“I think (breakfast) made her warm up to him”, she said. “We’ll probably be back”. A large crowd gathered along Santa Fe to watch the brightly lit and colored vehicles and floats, many decorated for the season, parade down the street.
