Santa, Mrs. Claus to Attend Clearfield Christmas Parade

Christmas in the Village, Escanaba, Dec. 4-5: This old-fashioned holiday event features horse-drawn rides, roasted chestnuts, hot chocolates, and of course, a visit from Santa himself.

The surprise surfing Santa arrives by jet ski at 2 p.m. on Friday at Shepard Park, 200 E. Cocoa Beach Causeway, Cocoa Beach. He will bring up the end of the parade – somehow.

The theme for this year’s parade centers around the vibrant local live arts scene in “Christmas Plays in Peoria”. Access in and out of the East Garage Parking Structure will also be closed from approximately 7:20 p.m. until 7:50 p.m. for fireworks.

Winter Snow Fun Holiday Parade & Tree Lighting, Marquette, Dec. 3: Celebrate the magic of the holiday season at the fifth annual Winter Snow Fun Holiday Parade. There is no fee to enter the parade this year. “Just pull up (before 6 p.m.) and say you want to be in it. The more, the merrier”.

Organizers have received roughly 40 entries into this year’s parade and will welcome more.

“This is an absolutely free event – we don’t allow any selling whatsoever”, said Enns.

Light refreshments will be served and Santa Claus will be present.

“Everybody really likes the feeling of having a community Christmas tree”, Milton said.

Marching bands, floats, reindeer, and Santa make this parade special. Plaques will be awarded for best commercial, best small independent business and best not for profit group entries.

Late-comers also can enter the parade up until it starts. Toronto’s official Christmas tree will be lit, along with performances from some of Canada’s top musicians, a firework show and skating parties.

The promotion committee will continue the great tradition of a Lighted Christmas Parade downtown.
