Santa tracking possible with Microsoft and Google
Yes, we know that Santa Claus is coming to town and so does the North American Aerospace Defense Command which continues its tradition of telling youngsters the location of Kris Kringle on his annual storybook world tour for 60 consecutive years now.

NORAD now also operates a website and social media feeds where kids can track Santa.
“We track Santa because once midnight comes and he’s transits through the Richmond area we are on hand to provide EMS, which is emergency medicine for Santa and of course CPR, which is complete protection for reindeer, we take that responsibility very seriously”, said Lawrence with a smile. That’s right, Christmas is here, which means kids around the world are looking forward to discovering what gifts Santa Claus brought them the night before. Shoup worked at the operations department for the air defense center, now known as NORAD, so the call must have come as a bit of a surprise. Children can also speak to a live phone operator to ask about Santa’s location. Last year, hundreds of volunteers, including many NORAD employees and Michelle Obama, fielded 135,000 calls from 234 countries. Even the first lady helps out. The tech company Google has its own Santa tracker, eleven years young.
Each of the rival technology giants continued their separate Internet holiday traditions that allow children, no matter how grown up they might be, to track Santa online as he makes his way around the world on Christmas Eve.

“We get a lot of calls from Europe, Australia and New Zealand”, said NORAD’s Stacey Knott, who has organized the Santa tracking for three years.
