Santos ask for Neymar ban
Brazilian club Santos demanded a 6-month suspension for superstar striker Neymar on Thursday, claiming he breached transfer conditions when he moved to Barcelona in 2013. Current club president Modesto Roma had clarified in May that the complaint isn’t “against an idol” but for “the sake of the club”.

Wagner Ribeiro, one of Neymar’s agents didn’t sound too concerned about the case.
“Wagner Ribeiro told Brazil’s UOL (via ESPN FC) on Thursday that Santos’s petition was “absurd” and unconstitutional”, noting it would likely amount to nothing.
“I am knowing because Neymar received a summons and will be charged for this. (Neymar’s father, who doubles as his son’s manager) and with his legal team to analyze the course of action”.
A text in the lawsuit read: “So, Neymar Jr violated the Articles 17(3), 17(5) of the RTSP and the Article 62 of the Disciplinary Code”.
They are also demanding €55m (£40.6m) for the player for having, according to Santos, broken his contract with the club. “According to Federation Internationale de Football Association bylaws, the arbitration procedure is confidential and Santos FC will not have a say during the arbitration”. The article covers financial compensation for the selling club and punishment for the player involved, which could range from a four to six-month ban.

The financial arrangements surrounding the Brazil captain’s move from Santos to Barcelona in 2013 came under investigation and led to the resignation of Sandro Rosell from his position as president of the Catalan side in January 2014. However, Neymar insists that he’s not guilty of any wrong doing and talked to Barcelona once he reached an agreement with the club.
