The England winger, who has struggled to get back into the worldwide set-up under head coach Eddie Jones, appeared to make contact with Waller’s hand during a scrap on the floor in the first half of Saturday’s Aviva Premiership encounter.

But Alex Waller’s yellow card, followed by Jamie George’s opening try, turned the tide and from their Saracens never looked back in a 27-12 success, much to McCall’s delight.
Citing officer, former England flanker Mike Rafter, had 24 hours from the end of the match to decide if Ashton has a case to answer with video evidence showing he does.
Ashton will appear before an RFU disciplinary panel chaired by Philip Evans QC, and also including Tom Rees and Paula Carter, in London on Tuesday evening.
“He (Waller) just repeated what he said to the referee (Greg Garner), in that he had been bitten on the hand”, Mallinder said.
Ashton received a 10-week ban last season for putting his hand near the eyes of Luke Marshall during a European Champions Cup match against Ulster. “I suppose there is a good chance Chris will be cited as a result so we will see what happens”.

Ashton has not played for England since Eddie Jones took charge of the team.
