Sarah Michelle Gellar signs on to star in NBC ‘Cruel Intentions’ reboot
The Cruel Intentions TV series will pick up more than 15 years after the movie left off, with the main lead being the son of Phillippe’s character (the late Sebastian) and Witherspoon’s character (Annette Hargrove) – Bash Casey. If Sarah Michelle Gellar is on board it’s also more likely to make fans of the original movie tune in.

Fans will be glad to hear Geller was reportedly in talks with NBC about making a comeback to play her role again – Sebastian Valmont’s sister Kathryn Merteuil.
The actress broke the news in an Instagram post, with a throwback pic of her with the film’s writer and director, Roger Kumble, and executive producer, Neal Moritz.
He discovers his late father’s legacy in a journal and is introduced to the world of sex, scandal and wealth.
He will have to compete with Kathryn as she tries to take control of Valmont International – as well as Bash’s soul.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, who starred as Kathryn Merteuil in the 1999 feature film, announced Wednesday that she’s returning for the NBC pilot. She’s a force to be reckoned with having recently returned from Capitol Hill with the hopes of being the first black Republican congresswoman in the history of California. Kumble has remained in touch with Ross and Rosin after blessing the musical parody.
