Sarah Palin endorses ‘master’ dealmaker Trump for US president
The former Alaska governor, and former running mate of Sen. Though she never made it to the White House after becoming the party’s vice presidential pick in 2008, Palin’s style, which showed a candidate could be popular by eschewing policy minutiae in favor of plain-speaking, is seen as a precursor to Trump’s recent success.

Trump, whose team had been touting a major, surprise announcement, praised Palin as “a friend, and a high-quality person whom I have great respect for” in a statement. “I am proud to have her support”, he added.
Palin was due to join Trump later on Tuesday at a campaign event in Ames, a city in central Iowa, the first state in the nation to vote for the Republican and Democratic parties’ nominees in two weeks. The court documents say the woman, Track Palin’s girlfriend of one year, had bruising and swelling around her left eye, and she said her right knee hurt after Palin kicked her there.
Trump is a “master” dealmaker, she said.
Whether this is a one-time reappearance on Palin’s part or the start of a long, unwelcome re-acquaintance with the American public, we can only hope that Palin’s new presence on campaign stages around the country gives Tina Fey some new material. John Wayne was among the top box office draws for three decades with films ranging from “Stagecoach” in 1939 through to “True Grit” in 1969.
Earlier on Tuesday, Cruz brushed off rumors of the Palin endorsement as a potential blow to his momentum in Iowa. He followed that up on Twitter Tuesday. The statement also quoted Cruz as once saying he “would not be in the United States Senate were it not for Gov. Sarah Palin….”
Campaigning in New Hampshire, Cruz said, “Regardless of what Sarah intends to do in 2016, I will remain a big, big fan of Sarah Palin”.
Glassner worked on Palin’s failed 2008 vice presidential bid and Trump hired him as his political director last July.
However, Trump has also spent significant time this cycle trashing the Arizona senator, most visibly this summer when he said that the former prisoner of war was “not a war hero”.

“He represented strength, he represented power”, qualities “missing” from today’s president, Trump said at the John Wayne Birthplace Museum in Winterset, Iowa, where a life-size wax figure of the actor served as a backdrop.
